Commissions Terms of Service
General
By transferring payment you are agreeing to these terms of service. These terms relate to non-commercial projects and they are subject to revising, editing, additions and subtractions without notice.
Use of Artwork
Commissioned artwork is for personal use only unless a commercial license has been agreed.
I retain authorship of the artwork, you are not purchasing all rights to the image. This includes sketches, linework and any other work made in the commission process.
You can print the image (for personal use only), share the image on the internet (crediting me as the artist and linking to my website or social media) but you may not distribute the image or use it on a livestream without my consent.
I may choose to share the artwork on any of my social media channels or website. As I retain the copyright to the image, I have the right to make prints and merchandise from the image unless agreed that I will not.
No one may alter the artwork without permission. The finished commission will be sent in the form of a high resolution JPG, PDF or PNG. Provision of the electronic image in separated or layered form does not grant you the right to use the separated material, nor will be sent as part of the commission except by prior agreement.
Any characters depicted in the artwork will remain under full ownership of their owners, but the copyright of the artwork itself belongs to the artist.
Payment
All prices and quotes will be in GBP.
Payment is by bank transfer or PayPal. Payment is to be made in full before I begin work on the commission. For commissions of £200 or more, you may pay half before I begin work and the remainder after the lineart has been approved, before the commission is coloured.
The Commission Process
I communicate regularly during the commission process asking for your feedback and opinions, especially during the sketch phase. Please respond as promptly as is reasonable or let me know when you will be able to get back to me.
Rough Sketch
After you have sent me your ideas for a commission, I will create between 1 and 3 rough sketches depending on the information you have given me. Sketches are rough and to convey the basic idea only.
Linart
Once you have approved a sketch I will create the black and white line image of the artwork. I will send you this for approval before colouring.
This is the last stage you can request for a major alteration to the image (change of pose, costume etc.)
Full Colour and Finish
After the line art is approved, I will flat colour the image. You will have the opportunity to change colours but no significant changes to the lineart. After this stage is approved I will move onto the finishing stage of the image, including shadows and highlights.
Deadlines
Unless otherwise agreed I will aim for a turnaround time of 3 months (usually a lot shorter). I will keep you updated during the commission process and will make you aware of any potential hold ups.
I will only proceed to the next stage of the commission with your written agreement so you must respond promptly to me if time is a factor.
Commercial Licenses
Although the process of commissioning artwork from me will remain the same, if the artwork is to be used for anything other than personal used (as stated above) there must be a separate agreement of how and where the image can be used.
NFTs and AI
Under no circumstances can my artwork be minted as an NFT or used in any NFT-related project.
Likewise, none of my artwork can be used for AI training, prompts or edited by AI.
The commissioner must read, understand and agree to all the above terms before entering into an agreement with the artist. By sending payment, the commissioner automatically agrees to the above terms.
